Carnegie Hall seeks a basic crew member to fill the open night shift position to work within its three performance venues. This individual should have technical capacity, depth of expertise and experience with 21st century equipment and usage to service diverse programming and meet artistic needs of all CHC and Rental events. Working under the supervision of the Director of Production, the qualified candidate must be able to perform the duties outlined below including but not limitedto the following:
Understand and interpret technical production documents such as light plots, audio input lists, stage plots, stage layouts, etc.
Operate theatrical lighting, audio, video and fiber network systems.
Operate mechanical lifts, motor controllers and drive winch grid systems.
Perform assigned routine maintenance.
Perform other stagehand duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience working in a first-class concert hall venue including:
Ability to communicate directly with artists, visiting production crews/producers and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work long hours within a demanding concert schedule.
Ability to move heavy equipment.
Proficient experience and knowledge with building systems including Audio, Video, Lighting systems and Infrastructure design.
System and signal flow diagnostic and troubleshooting capability in high pressure time sensitive environments.
Proficient ability to draw, read, and understand schematic diagrams in both a pre and post installation capacity.
Proficient experience and knowledge of safe rigging practices.
Proficient experience and knowledge of operating mechanical lifts and drive winch grid systems.
Proficient experience and knowledge of operating automation systems such as:
Mitsubishi PLCs and Siemens motor controllers.
Proficient knowledge of the operation of theatrical systems such as:
Crestron Control Systems
Emergency lighting systems e.g. ETC ELTS and ELTS2, Meyer Power conversion
Digital Processing including Crestron, BSS Soundweb, Clearcom Freespeak, Meyer Sound Galileo/Compass
Shure Wireless
Proficient knowledge of fiber connectivity and operation of video systems including:
Ability to design, manage and deploy ethernet networks
Experience with video projection systems set-up, engineering, and operation.
Panasonic DLP video projectors and Analog Way Quick Vu
Media playback systems including Keynote, Playback Pro, and Q Lab
Ability to maintain and update firmware and software versions for audio, video and lighting systems hardware and control platforms.
