Head Sound/Audio Engineer

 

The head sound/audio engineer would be responsible for the upkeep, functionality, and operations of all house audio equipment at flagstar at Westbury Music Fair. This position will also be responsible for ancillary spaces throughout the venue, ensuring all house and rental audio needs are met. This position requires the ability to work with in-house management, all touring concerts/special events, and supporting other departments professionally.

 

·      Oversee all microphones and instruments internally as well as rentals.

·      Maintain all house audio equipment.

·      Provide microphone and at times, monitor placements for all concerts/special events.

·      Operate and maintain all audio equipment.

·      Responsible for music mixing and monitor systems.

·      Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with in-house management as well as touring concerts/special events.

·      Knowledge and understanding of in-house equipment for the sound department in various areas of the venue.

·      Ability to discuss upgrades, repairs to in-house equipment.

·      Maintain a clean working environment for audio equipment as well as storage.

·      Communicate all concerns about show-related topics to the Production Manager.

·      Assist with load-in, set-up and load-out of all concerts/special events and internal events as needed.

·      Manage/assist additional stagehands that may work in the sound department for concerts, special events and internal events.

 

Physical Demands

Ability to lift/setup audio equipment and backline and lighting, about 50 lbs.

At times, long periods of standing and/or sitting.

 

Compensation

Head Audio Rate $44.74 plus, Local One I.A.T.S.E. Benefits
