Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is one of the world’s leading performing arts organizations, with a mission “to entertain, enrich and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education
and advocacy”. A 501(c)3 organization that is now in its 31st year; JALC offers a full concert season with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) with Wynton Marsalis (and many guests) at
its home of Frederick P. Rose Hall. “The House of Swing,” on the corner of Central Park at Columbus Circle in New York City; regularly tours the JLCO in the US and abroad. It operates a wide array of
educational programs, from WeBop for kids through the year-long high school music program “Essentially Ellington”. Now in its second decade, it has begun a global suite of jazz advocacy
initiatives ranging from free HD live webcasts and online teaching tools to local community-based advocacy programs.
The successful candidate is one of six Basic stagehands to oversee theatrical events in Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, including but not limited to: Rose Theater (1200+ seat
flexible concert hall/proscenium theater) and The Appel Room (400+ flexible non-fixed seating concert venue, television studio, theater and special event venue). Frederick P. Rose Hall houses
over 500 events annually, between Jazz at Lincoln Center-produced programming and a wide variety of outside performances and special events.
Responsibilities
• Staff and manage crews for concert, theatrical, special, and corporate events with Production
Management.
• Work with Production Management to advance events as needed.
• Help manage and maintain all theatrical equipment and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated expertise required in all aspects of stagecraft.
• High level specialty skill required in all aspects of production audio and video as well as
installed facility, AV, audio, and recording systems and the ability to repair/maintain existing
systems.
• Must have excellent working knowledge of workplace safety policies and practices.
• Ability to manage crew responsibly and effectively.
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing to work 48+ hours per week, year-round.
• Knowledge of or keen interest in music production and appreciation of jazz and jazz culture
helpful
Work Hours Shift work varies, minimum 40 hours per week. Must be available to work day and/or evening shifts.
Compensation Hourly rates and other compensation based on I.A.T.S.E. Local 1 CBA. (48-week, 40 hour/week
guarantee + vacation).

This position will start August 2024.
