Electric Construction Journeyman

Salary: 46.28/hr per L1 CBA

As a member of the Electric Construction team, the Electric Construction Journeyman will plan, supervise, and perform industrial electrical installation and repair work at the Metropolitan Opera House and related facilities at the direction of the Electric Construction Boss.

Preferred Experience

  • Journeyman level knowledge of electrical installation, preferred strength in commercial/industrial installations. Excellent Troubleshooting skills.

    1. Minimum 5 years as electrical foreman supervising crews, following all best practice procedures to ensure crew safety.

    2. Ideal candidate will have experience with planning, installing, maintaining and repairing of all phases of electrical work relating to building physical plant and equipment repair; including power and lighting, IP networks, optical fiber, motor control, building management systems, variable frequency drives, HVAC, interpreting electrical construction blueprints; using metering and motor testing equipment; installing and maintaining control panels, relays, and alarm and detection devices for high and low voltage equipment; developing material and equipment cost estimates for electrical projects; evaluating electrical specifications and performance criteria.

    1. Plan, supervise, and perform all phases of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical systems and service work in theater facility and additional buildings maintained by the Met. Perform cost estimates and projections for electrical projects; monitor, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems; evaluate electrical procedures; meet regularly with the Electrical Construction Boss to ensure electrical needs are met; review electrical specifications and performance criteria.

    2. 35% 

    3. Manage Electrical hardware inventory, interface with vendors, request quotes for project materials, write Purchase orders and ensure orders that arrive are correct.
