Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Coronavirus has reached “National Emergency” status. The Federal Government just appropriated $50 billion dollars, contingent on a favorable Senate vote this Monday, to help those physically or financially affected by COVID-19. The attached document, marked “Families First,” describes the relief this recent legislation will provide. I suggest you review it, at least for informational purposes.

The following link is new guidance from The Department Of Labor related to unemployment insurance:

A large portion of money has been appropriated to provide workers affected by Coronavirus with unemployment insurance. Please know if you are regularly subject to work under Local One IATSE Agreements, and you are otherwise able to work if not for the encompassing effects of Coronavirus, then you are eligible for unemployment insurance. Local One is not your employer, but the Union can help verify that you regularly make yourself available for work and you are able to work when there is work available. This is a National Emergency, so drastic times call for drastic measures. Please consider taking advantage of every available benefit.

Our membership will persevere together, and we will get through this crisis. The Union will continue to do all it can

Please standby for further announcements

In Solidarity,

James J. Claffey Jr.

President
