September 22, 2021

Dear Brothers, Sisters, Kith and Kin,

It is with a deep sense of sadness and regret that I must report to you the passing of our 36-year Member Sister Susan Dee Johnson on September 13, 2021.  Sister Susan worked throughout the jurisdiction, starting her career at Lincoln Scenic Studios, The Metropolitan Opera, Hudson Scenic and Broadway. Sister Susan later in her career worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Sotheby’s as a re-toucher.

In retirement she became a plein-air painter with several area painting groups.
Her other passions were hiking, world traveling and the history of the Hudson Valley. She was an avid NY Times crossword puzzler and volunteered at the Croton Free Library Book Sale.

She was politically active especially in Women’s Causes as well as other issues.

She was born on August 20, 1950 and initiated into Local One on October 31, 1985.

She is survived by brother Carl Johnson, sister Patricia Duncan and her
husband Gary, sister Debi Quarry and her husband Steve and six nieces and nephews.

Services:  Private

Sister Johnson is lovingly remembered fondly by her family and her friends, with her 1,000 watt smile and the best carrot cake in Croton. May her soul Rest in Peace.

Sincerely,

Robert C. Score                                                                      Michael A. Caffrey
