December 28, 2020

Dear Brothers, Sisters, Kith, Kin,

It is with a deep sense of sadness and regret that I must report to you the passing of our retired Brother Dan McCormack on December 20, 2020. Brother Dan was born in 1953 and initiated into Local One in 1977. He worked throughout the jurisdiction at Radio City Music Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, numerous Broadway theatres and most notably for approximately ten years on the Disney production of THE LION KING. He will be missed by family and friends alike. May he Rest in Peace.

His father, George, was a member of Local One who served for many years as a Legitimate Theatre Business Manager and his older brother, also named George, is a retired member as well.
The sense of loss is particularly difficult during the holiday season and I will personally miss the visits at the office from Brother Dan who would stop by occasionally with a Union memento from his Dad’s collection and donate them to Local One.

The family is hoping to have a memorial service on St. Patrick’s Day. Details to follow.

Rest in Peace, Brother Dan. You were a kind person with a gentle soul.
Sincerely,
Robert C. Score Recording-Corresponding Secretary
