Dear Brothers, Sisters, Kith and Kin,
 
It is with a deep sense of sadness and regret that I must report to you the passing of our 45-year retired Member Brother Louis “Louie Val” Valentino on March 12, 2022.
 
He was born on October 12, 1950 and initiated into Local One on April 24, 1977.
 
Brother Lou worked at the Metropolitan Opera his whole career.
 
After retirement he was a regular visitor to the Local One office (prior to COVID), always with a smile and would chat with all that were there. He kept in contact with the office with frequent phone calls of thanks for keeping the union running.
 
Brother Lou is survived by his sons, Local One Brother Michael Valentino, Louis Jr. and Christopher Valentino, his grandchildren, Nicholas, Arielle, Makayla, Dylan, Anieca, Olivia and Giovanna Valentino.
 
His sister Rosemarie Valentino, his brothers Local One Brothers Patrick and Joseph. His nieces, Local One Sister Victoria Valentino and Alexis Valentino.
 
Reposing:  F.G. Guido Funeral Home, 440 Clinton Street, Brooklyn, NY  11231
 
Viewing:  Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
 
Services:  Mass of Catholic Burial on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 9511 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY  11209.
 
Interment:  Holy Cross Cemetery, 3620 Tilden Avenue, Brooklyn, NY  11203.
             
Brother Lou will be missed by family and friends alike. May his soul Rest in Peace.
